Mag Pie and Jack Daw to Play EP

Mag Pie and Jack Daw, Music blog

I’m delighted to announce that after playing in Trailer Park with the Dublin Ukulele Collective in 2017 , I’ll once again play this huge festival in Ireland this year too.

This time I’m playing as part of Mag Pie and Jack Daw. I’m Mag Pie (on vocals and ukulele) and playing alongside me is Robin James Hurt as Jack Daw (on vocals, banjo-guitar and mandolin).

We play what I like to call old-time-ish tunes, as some are indeed from the 20s and 30s but others are more contemporary with an old time feel. Expect sing-along classics and standards along with some lesser-known, vocal harmonies and the lovely blend of sound that comes from my concert and baritone ukuleles mixed with picked banjo and mandolin.

The stage is My Lovely Ranch in Electric Picnic – complete with hay bales and animals. We’re on at 5pm til 5.50pm there to get you straight into the festival mood on Friday 31st of August.

Robin will also play alongside Track Dogs later on Friday and two other sets backstage at the Salty Dog. Check out his website for times.

Meanwhile I’m painting a sign for the stage!
